Lebanese University - MISPE
Mechanics (P1100)
P1100 – Mechanics (Lebanese University, Faculty of Sciences) Master first-year mechanics, from motion and forces to energy, momentum, and rotation. The recorded lessons follow the material as it’s taught in class, with solved exercises and related past exam questions after every chapter, plus full past exams solved step by step .
About This Course
P1100 – Mechanics For first-year students at the Lebanese University, Faculty of Sciences P1100 is the foundation of university physics. Everything you learn later is built on its ideas: motion, forces, energy, and momentum. Many students understand the lecture but get stuck when they face an exam problem. This course closes that gap. Every chapter is explained as it’s taught in class, then followed by exercises and real past exam questions, so you learn how to apply each idea, not just what it says. How the course works Material explanation: Every chapter is explained in recorded videos that follow the course material as it’s taught in class, so nothing is missing and nothing extra confuses you. Exercise solving: After each lesson, we solve the chapter exercises step by step. Past exam questions after every chapter: Each chapter ends with past exam exercises on that chapter, so you see how its topics are tested. Full past exams solved: Complete past exams are solved step by step, so you can practice under real exam conditions. Watch anytime: Study at your own pace, pause, and rewatch before exams. What you’ll learn Motion Along a Straight Line (Ch. 2): Position, displacement, velocity, acceleration, motion with constant acceleration, and free fall. Motion in 2 and 3 Dimensions (Ch. 4): Position and velocity vectors, projectile motion, uniform circular motion, and relative motion. Force and Motion I (Ch. 5): Newton’s laws, common forces (weight, normal force, tension), and free-body diagrams. Force and Motion II (Ch. 6): Friction, drag force, and the dynamics of uniform circular motion. Kinetic Energy and Work (Ch. 7): Work done by constant and variable forces, the work-kinetic energy theorem, work done by springs, and power. Potential Energy and Conservation of Energy (Ch. 8): Conservative forces, gravitational and elastic potential energy, conservation of mechanical energy, and work done by external and friction forces. Center of Mass and Linear Momentum (Ch. 9): Center of mass, Newton’s second law for a system, linear momentum, impulse, and elastic and inelastic collisions. Rotation (Ch. 10): Angular variables, rotation with constant angular acceleration, rotational kinetic energy, moment of inertia, torque, and Newton’s second law for rotation. Rolling, Torque, and Angular Momentum (Ch. 11): Rolling motion, angular momentum, and conservation of angular momentum. By the end of the course, you will be able to: Analyze motion in one and two dimensions, including projectiles and circular motion Draw free-body diagrams and apply Newton’s laws to any system Solve problems using work, energy, and momentum conservation Handle rotation, torque, and rolling problems with confidence Approach P1100 exam questions methodically and on time Who it’s for This course is for first-year Faculty of Sciences MISPE students taking P1100 First Semester .
